Both a pre-finished hardwood floor and a floor that is finished at the job site are in demand. A project that uses a prefinished floor can more easily meet client expectations of the project being completed on time, leading to higher satisfaction. There are, however, colour limitations, and every factory finished hardwood floor has a bevel between the boards. If the subfloor has any slight levelling irregularities, these will affect your prefinished floor.
Builders and interior designers prefer hardwood floors that are finished at the job site. On-site installation in a newly constructed or renovated home allows for more colour flexibility, wood species and level of gloss selection. Colour is applied to unfinished hardwood, and so we can mix and match the stain colors to the client or designer’s taste. In addition, if the level of your subfloor has small irregularities, they can be corrected with a hardwood floor sanding process.
